What is Terracotta?
Terracotta Church Consulting is a gospel-anchored ministry committed to renewing the health of the Church for generations to come. Supporting Terracotta is not simply backing a consulting practice—it’s investing in pastoral endurance, congregational flourishing, and the expansion of Christ’s kingdom through healthy, faithful, spiritually vibrant leaders and churches.
Terracotta presents a clear and compelling opportunity for partners who are committed to strengthening the Church’s witness, supporting pastors and ministry leaders, and expanding kingdom impact through renewed health in local congregations.
Founded and led by pastor Jason Helveston, Terracotta exists to help ministry leaders move from exhaustion to wholeness, from reaction to discernment, and from ministry built on hurry to ministry rooted in the truth and beauty of Jesus by following his path of healing, rest, and flourishing.
Our approach
Terracotta serves leaders, churches, and ministries that are under increasing pressure: cultural change, leadership fatigue, post-pandemic disruption, and the spiritual weight of shepherding congregations in a complex age. Rather than offering quick fixes or corporate growth formulas, Terracotta leads with a biblical pathway toward lasting health—Healing → Resting → Flourishing.
This pathway, born from John 15, helps leaders recover their identity as sons and daughters of a loving Heavenly Father, re-centers their vision on Jesus, and cultivates rhythms and practices that enable long-term faithfulness and gospel influence over mere short-term successes and metrics.
Our FRAMEWORK
Terracotta’s work unfolds in three core phases:
Discovering Healthy: A free 90-minute pastoral consultation designed to listen, pray, and discern together.
Becoming Healthy: A three-part journey—Healing, Resting, Flourishing—anchored in Scripture, formation practices, and leadership rhythms.
Staying Healthy: Ongoing coaching and support that help churches embed new patterns of ministry, leadership, and communal life.
Why this matters?
The broader cultural landscape shows that fewer Americans regularly attend worship services: only about 24% of adults report attending either in-person or online at least once a week. (PRRI)
Many pastors and ministry leaders are under high stress: for example, more than 65% of pastors report feelings of loneliness or isolation, and studies show around 42% have seriously considered quitting full-time ministry. (Barna Group)
Earlier research found that roughly 91% of pastors experienced some form of burnout, with 18% saying they were “fried to a crisp” at the time. (Soul Shepherding)
These realities point to a profound need for ministries to become healthy—not only to survive but to witness in their neighborhoods, multiply disciples, and engage culture in a faithful, sustainable way.
